Hello again, just a quick post regarding a project I finished recently. A very exciting round backgammon table for a London client, made initially for a very important London design show 'Decorex' specifically designed to impress everyone who laid eye's on it.
Outstanding in it's simplicity, outstanding in design, and most important outstanding in materials. Made in 'Tabu' grey stained veneers with laser cut Sycamore Fern inlays with inlaid triangles of Stainless Steel, along with Stainless steel inset rims on both sides, the centre dish, designed for throwing the dice into, has been veneered in 24 pieces of 'Tabu' and set with Stainless Steel to the outer edge.
The playing pieces have their own designer box also round to compliment the tables and when not in use sits on the bottom stretcher rails. It has been made with two independent lid's to access both sides of the circle, to accommodate the lid's using the same space for hinging they work on the same principle as a gate leg knuckle joint, so the hinge itself is wooden, the box is a delight in it's own right.
